There was something incredibly special about watching my husband hold our baby boy.
He is so selfless that when the nurses offered to let him hold Lucas on that first night, he declined, saying he wanted me to be the first to hold him because of everything I had been through.
He is the strong one. An excellent leader for our family, both physically and spiritually.
But what about when it all gets hard? Dads need somewhere to go for grace too.
Genesis 18:14a says, "Is anything too hard for the Lord?"
The answer is no.
After speaking the entire world into existence, nothing we face is beyond His power. Our strong and sovereign Creator is not shaken by hard things. No situation is too broken, too painful, or too far gone for Him. All we need is faith to believe that He can do what He says He will do.
That is where Brian goes when things feel too hard. He finds a fresh supply of grace in the Savior. Grace that allows him to turn around and lead our family with strength, humility, and love.
I am forever thankful that God placed this man in my life, a man who strives for holiness each day. And on the days when he feels like giving up, he knows where to turn.
Because nothing is too hard for the Lord.
